Welcome to Physiology

Physiology is a major discipline in the School of Biomedical and Chemical Sciences with a distinguished teaching and research history extending back to the formation of the medical school and faculty at UWA in 1956. Physiology is concerned with the study of body function, providing an integrated perspective from the molecular to the whole organism level. Physiology is a major contributor to undergraduate science, pre-clinical medical and dental teaching programs.

Physiology is a research-intensive discipline that runs postgraduate teaching and research programs in a wide range of areas relevant to human disease, such as clinical audiology, pharmacy, cardiovascular, dietary and nutritional studies, respiration and asthma, nerve and muscle function, and thermoregulation.
